Professor Luisa De Cola, partner in the ONE-P project, is one of the winners of the ERC Advanced Grant award 2009!

Top research leaders have been selected by the European Research Council in its second competition for established top researchers "Advanced Grants". Luisa de Cola, involved in the third workpackage of the ONE-P project: "Light emitter materials for light-emitting diode architectures and light-emitting field effects transistors" is one of those.

European Research Council (ERC) is in charge of the newest, pioneering component of the EU's Seventh Research Framework Programme (the "Ideas" specific programme) and has a total budget of € 7.5 billion (2007-2013). Set up in 2007, the ERC aims to stimulate scientific excellence in Europe by supporting and encouraging the best creative scientists, scholars and engineers of any nationality in any field of research, to work in European host institutions.

It has selected 236 research leaders to perform their pioneering research throughout Europe. Each of the "Advanced Grants" amounts to up to € 3.5 million and the estimated total call budget is € 515 million.

Prof. Luisa De Cola from Westfälische-Wilhelms Universität Münster (WWUM) has received one of these prestigious award – the highly distinguished “Advanced Researcher Grant” for 2009.  Prof. De Cola will be receiving almost two million euros for five years in order to realise a research project MaGIC: (Nano)-Materials for cell Growth, Imaging and Communication
