PHILIPS has 2,500 employees covering the whole range of research activities of relevance to consumer and professional electronics, supplying a knowledge reservoir into which we can tap to aid in the application of the developed knowledge. PHILPS has a large effort in the field of nanoelectronics. The work is conducted in multidisciplinary teams comprising all necessary expertises. Some examples: i) Theory, simulation & design of polymer-based electronics and simulation and parameterization of devices. ii) Characterization of devices and test structures: All semiconductor device measurements, including interpretation and modelling, and supporting analysis. iii) Device nanofabrication by already developed photolithographic approaches, microcontact printing (soft lithography) and embossing. iv) Surface/interfaces and self-assembly: Morphological and functional characterization, organic and inorganic surface modification, LC self-assembly, building on extensive display program.
