The Technology Centre, based at Sonning Common, undertakes research work for the Johnson Matthey group. The Johnson Matthey Technology Centre (JMTC) is the main R&D centre for the JM group worldwide. It employees 200 staff from many scientific disciplines, of which about 2/3rds are qualified to degree or doctorate level. The Materials department at JMTC develops core technology for JM. Notable recent work being in the area of novel inkjet printable inks containing metal-oxide/metallic nanoparticles for low temperature metallization and decorative applications.
