Near infra-red light-emitting diodes and infra-red sensitised solar cells incorporating selenium doped conjugated polymers

We present devices based upon two selenium doped polymers, BS and TBST, which emit in the near infra-red (NIR) part of the spectrum. In blended devices, we obtain NIR emission (peak 800-900 nm) with external quantum efficiencies up to 0.3±0.1 %. In photovoltaic devices, we achieve 1.2±0.1 % power conversion efficiency.
